The biopic chronicles the life of legendary Japanese photographer Masahisa Fukase, portrayed by Tadanobu Asano, known for his roles in “Mortal Kombat,” Marvel Studios’ “Thor” franchise, and Japanese classics such as “Ichi the Killer” and “The Blind Swordsman: Zatoichi.”
“Ravens” delves into the heart-wrenching tale of Fukase and Yoko, their love a delicate balance between passion and tragedy. Kumi Takiuchi breathes life into the role of Yoko, infusing her with a magnetic charisma that draws audiences into the tumultuous world of their relationship. With her past credits, including the critically acclaimed “A Balance” showcased at Berlinale’s Panorama, Takiuchi brings depth and nuance to her portrayal.

SCENESIS is proudly behind the post production of “Ravens”, contributing their expertise in 3D, Digital Matte-Painting, Conceptualisation, Compositing, and Clean-up as part of a changing schedule. The team comprises of awarded VFX talents lead by SCENESIS Founder Cédric Mignon, with dedicated artists: Mathieu Legros, Franck Boyer, Antoine Goncalves, Duy Ahn Nguyen, Antoine Duhé, and Thierry Beaumel, who worked tirelessly to bring the film’s visual elements to life. SCNENESIS’s Thierry Beaumel has also led the collaboration with the colour grading artist Yov More hired by the production company. Their collective efforts ensured that “Ravens” boasts stunning visuals that enhance the storytelling, ensuring this beautifully creative story captivates audiences.
The production of “Ravens” was shepherded by Orian Williams, acclaimed for his work on films like “Control” and the recent documentary “Have You Got It Yet? The Story of Syd Barrett and Pink Floyd”. Alongside Williams, the film was co-produced by Ark Entertainment, The Y House, Minded Factory, and Panoranime, bringing together a diverse and talented team to realise the vision of “Ravens” on screen.
