I loved the whole story, it was so clear and easy to follow, yet incredibly engaging. The performances across the board were amazing, but Sydney Sweeney’s was truly incredible. She made the audience fall completely in love with Christy and conveyed so beautifully the pressures and misunderstandings she faced throughout the film.
Her teammates were such lovely additions, bringing depth and warmth to the story. The cinematography and art direction paired perfectly with the colour grading to create a real sense of nostalgia, and the sound effects and score were both nostalgic and fun, helping to romanticise the ring and let us experience it just as Christy did.
I would absolutely go and watch this again if I could. And honestly, Sydney’s performance feels career-changing, she’s definitely Oscar-worthy this year.
