On Friday evening, the British Film Editors kindly invited the Post Super team to attend the Cut Above Awards 2026. The event spanned two days, with the awards taking place from 6pm, followed by a panel the next morning.
The two-day event took place at Picturehouse Central in Soho, bringing together the post-production community for a mix of celebration and conversation.
The evening started with drinks, where we caught up with familiar faces across the industry, including Stefania from the BFE, Nick from Salon Rentals, and James and Jon from Televisual. It was a really relaxed start to the night and a great chance to reconnect before heading into the ceremony.
The awards were opened by Stefania Marangoni and Dicky Everton, before host Poppy Rowe took to the stage to guide the evening…

One of the highlights of the evening was the Lifetime Achievement Award, presented to John Grover. A film celebrating his career was shown ahead of the award, focusing on his contribution to the launch of the British Film Editors, alongside highlights from his work and some great stories from throughout his career. John received a standing ovation, which was such a lovely moment and honestly felt really special in the room. His career includes work on iconic films such as The Spy Who Loved Me, Moonraker and Lifeforce.
The Outstanding Contribution Award was then presented to Eddie Hamilton by Matthew Vaughn, recognising his impact on the craft. Eddie’s speech was another standout moment, as he spoke about how he got into the industry and how Matthew had supported and championed him early on in his career, and how important it is to now do the same for others coming up behind him.
