2026: Our ins and outs

18 vitamins, a marathon, and a self-help book? Not for us. Here’s what we’re really taking into 2026.

New Year… Same Us!

December brings a lot of reflection and celebration, and we genuinely love seeing it across our industry. Seeing these wins on social media is fantastic and something we’re always happy to celebrate. At the same time, we know it can quietly create pressure for those who may not always recognise just how great their own achievements are.

Being in this industry, doing what we love, and living the lives our younger selves once dreamed of is something we don’t always stop to appreciate. Simply being here, still working in post, is an achievement in itself.

As we move into 2026, rather than taking 18 new vitamins a day, training for a marathon, or committing to a self-help book we’re not interested in, we’re choosing to celebrate the everyday and carry the good habits we’ve already formed into the year ahead.

It’s a new year, same us. We’ve built strong reputations for a reason, and the people around us know how we work and the value of consistency. With that in mind, we wanted to share the small habits were bringing in (and leaving out) of 2026!

This year, I started thinking about what things I did or didn't do last year that made me feel "heavy".  As the mother of a 4yr old with endless energy you can imagine a lot came up! BUT what could I tweak in any way?

"Me time" isn't a thing in my life yet but I was doing was scheduling lunch or a break in my calendar and then ignoring it, eating at my desk and then feeling like I hadn't taken a breath all day!  So I am going to take the break and stop betraying myself!

This year, I’m focusing on clearer communication across my teams, making sure information is shared early and expectations are clear.

This year, I’m bringing with me a habit I built towards the end of last year: taking regular time to stay up to date with what’s happening across the post-production industry. Whether it’s reading about new tools, catching up on features, or dipping into webinars, it’s been especially with planning Post Super’s year ahead and when meeting with clients, and I want to keep that momentum going.

I’m also focusing on building confidence in my driving. Having recently passed my test, this year is about getting more comfortable behind the wheel and trusting myself as I go.

This year, I’m bringing with me a couple of habits that really work. Last year, I started using an online planner on my iPad and it’s become a staple,I use it every morning to plan my day and stay focused. I’ve also discovered the email scheduling tool, which makes following up far easier and honestly makes me look far more put together.

I’m leaving behind habits that i’m super guilty of doing: late-night cleaning urges that push my bedtime back, and drinking coffee before eating because it makes me feel anxious.

Hopefully these ins and outs are useful, either to implement or if not, as a mini motivational read. You are already valued so much by us, and you don’t need to change just because of a trend most people will give up on within the week. Happy New Year and happy first week back- it’s so great to see you. 🙂
