Why are we sponsoring the Post Super New Year party? Besides the obvious fact that – well – everyone loves a party (even in January), Post Super and Absolute actually have a lot in common. We connect great people, nurture fresh talent, inspire new audiences, and celebrate impeccable craft.
The past eighteen months have been a bit of a blur for Absolute’s film & TV crew. We’ve had the pleasure of collaborating with leading directorial talent. With Otto Bathurst, we turned man-to-goat in plain sight for ‘Return Of The Goat II’, whilst Mads Mikkelsen watched on. With Rob Savage, we executed his much-anticipated horror, ‘DASHCAM’, and for Sean Durkin’s ‘The Nest’ we added to the chaos of Jude Law and Carrie Coon’s toxic romance.
In the TV/streaming realm, we’ve executed visual effects for the likes of Netflix, BBC, HBO and Amazon Prime. We’ve worked on historical dramas like ‘The Great’, comedic offerings like ‘The Cockfields’ and ‘Avenue 5’, and an animated ‘Stranger Things’, variation which caused mass fan hysteria.
A particular highlight has been the tidal wave of visual effects we were tasked with creating for Amazon Prime’s newly released supernatural thriller, ‘The Rig’. With 190 shots across all six episodes, it made up much of our 2022 workflow and was our largest project to date. You know that feeling of pride, when something you’ve worked on is available to watch in your own home? Yeah, that.
2023 marks an exciting year for us. Our new partnership with ENVY heralds a refreshed commitment to world-class craft and state-of-the-art technology. A huge part of that is some brand-new digs in nearby Fitzrovia. Currently undergoing renovation, our new home will boast three state-of-the-art sound studios (two of which are licensed for Dolby Atmos), three grading suites, multiple VFX suites, a rooftop terrace and, rather excitingly, a cinema room.
But tomorrow night isn’t about us. It is about you.
This party is our way of giving back to a community that stands for so much. Comradery, inspiration, and a hunger to always be better. Do better.
We’re big believers that there’s always more to learn, whether you’re just starting out and learning the ropes or a professional who, to many, may seem at the peak of their career.
Cheers to base camp and cheers to the hike.
